Dad Of 2 Killed In Head-On Tractor-Trailer Crash: York Coroner (Update)

The 53-year-old man who died in a head-on crash involving a tractor-trailer on Lincoln Highway/US Route 30 has been identified, according to the York County Coroner's office on Thursday, July 25.

Michael "Mike" Kenemore, of the 300 block of Wynwood Rd, Springettsbury Township's 2004 Ford F-250 was going east in the 7000 block of the highway when, for an unknown reason he left his lane, entering the westbound traffic, and striking a 2006 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer head-on, as explained in the coroner's release. 

The Springettsbury Township resident who was driving the pickup was not wearing a seatbelt and died from his injuries at the scene at 8:48 p.m. on Monday, July 22, authorities explained in multiple separate releases. "Deputy Coroner Michele Kirchner responded to the scene to investigate and certify the death," as stated in the coroner's release. 

There will be no autopsy, but a routine toxicology test was performed, according to the coroner's office. His accidental death was caused by "Multiple Blunt Force Injuries," as stated in the coroner's release. 

The tractor-trailer driver was a 46-year-old man from Brampton, Ontario. "He was not injured from the crash," police said in a release. 

The first call to the crash came in at 8:16 p.m., according to the York County Department of Emergency Services. The highway was closed between Queen Street and Lake Road in Paradise Township was closed for approximately three hours. 

The Northern York County Regional Police is investigating this fatal crash.

Mike was a York native who attended Central York School District before becoming a popular vehicle painter and auto body worker, according to his social media and a GoFundMe launched to help his family. 

According to his obituary:

"He worked as a body tech and painter for Heritage Collision Auto Body LLC., M.T. Pockets Auto Body Customs & Collision, B.M.X. Racer known as "Pitbull." Mike loved to teach youth about BMXing sport. He was a member of Freaks of Nature and Northern York County Fish and Game Association. Mike was an avid hunter."

Mike is survived by his wife and two children, according to the GoFundMe.  

His funeral service will be held privately. 

"He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. His positive spirit and infectious smile touched the hearts of everyone he met," the team at Heritage Collision and Auto body who organized the GoFundMe wrote on the campaign page.
